Salt Dough
Ornaments
Project should be done with an
adult!
Materials:
Waxed paper -
Rolling pin -
Large bowl -
Measuring cups -
Cookie cutters
Cookie sheets - Oven - Drinking straw
Ingredients

2 C. flour
-
1 C. salt
-
1 C. water
-
How To: In a large bowl, mix together the
flour, salt, and water.

Knead together
ingredients until it feels like dough. Add a tad more water if
mixture is dry. Dry dough will make crumble.

Roll dough out
using rolling pin.

Use cookie
cutters to press out your favorite shapes.

Place shapes on a
cookie sheet.

Use drinking
straw to punch a hole in the top of the ornament. Use this hole
to hang the ornament.

Heat oven to 300.
-
Bake for 1 hour
or until ornaments are dry on front and back.

Let ornaments
cool.
-
Decorate with poster or acrylic paints or glue decorations onto
them.

Let ornament dry. When dry, protect with a clear coat of
acrylic paint.

Put string or
thin ribbon through the hole for hanging.
Suggestion:
Instead of punching a hole with the
straw, buy magnets for the back and use at a fridge decoration. |
